So I was just playing with pinterest today and saw this pop up on the boards. I had to make it. It looked yummy. After making it I realized next time I need to make two… especially when feeding 5 people (2 of which are teenage boys).
1 can classic Pillsbury Pizza Dough
1 bag (2 cups) Mozzarella Cheese
1 pack of Pepperonis
1 jar your choice of pizza sauce
1- Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Get out a baking sheet and lightly spray it with cooking spray.
2- Unroll pizza crust and press into a 10 x 13 rectangle. Mine ended up being larger at one end than the other but I’m sure you could press and roll it so that it evened out. Using a pair of kitchen scissors or a knife cut 8 equal strips along each of the longer sides. Leave a 3 inch space down the center of the dough.
3- Spoon pizza sauce along the center of the pizza dough along the 3 inch space you left. Top with 3/4 of cheese, then add 1/3 cup of pepperoni slices. Repeat by adding a second layer of cheese followed by a second layer of pepperoni.
4- Starting at one end fold the strips of dough across the center overlapping so it starts to look like a braid. Once you’ve folded all the strips over top the braided dough with the remaining pepperoni and cheese.
5- Bake for 20 minutes (start watching it at 15) until the crust is golden brown, baked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
